When Is The Best Time To Take A Pregnancy Test?

The best time to take a pregnancy test is after your missed period. A pregnancy test detects the hCG hormone in your urine or blood. To get accurate results, you need to wait until enough hCG builds up in your body to be detected.

A pregnancy test can sometimes detect hCG earlier, but it’s best to wait until the day you expected your period to start before taking a test.

Why Do I Need An Ultrasound?

A pregnancy test indicates the possibility of pregnancy, but you need to confirm if your pregnancy is viable. Viability means the pregnancy is growing with a detectable heartbeat.

Experts say that up to 20 % of known pregnancies end in a natural miscarriage. You can get a positive pregnancy test result days after a miscarriage. Ultrasound can determine if the pregnancy is viable.

An ultrasound scan also indicates how far along you are in your pregnancy (gestational age). This information is critical if you are considering an abortion.

Do You Provide Abortions?

We provide medically accurate information about abortion procedures. We do not offer or refer for abortion.
